Javier Baena is professor of Prehistory and Archaeology at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid (UAM, Spain), who teaches on Paleolithic archaeology and Experimental applications at different Universities around the world (teacher at the Master Erasmus Mundus Quaternary and Prehistory (Paris-Ferrara) invited professor at Santa Barbara University (California), Tucson-(Arizona), Athens (Grece) Siena, Florencia and Rome (Italy), Paris (France) Budapest (Hungry), Liverpool (UK) etc. Specialist in lithic technology and GIS, has a large research activities with numerous projects and more than 240 publications in these topics (ORCID ID: 0000-0002-6373-8286, and a H-index 27,, and in particular related with lower and Middle paleolithic. Through his work teaching Paleolithic and Experimental Archaeology since 1990, he has supported and promoted different Experimental centres in Spain. Cumulatively, his work provides a body of scientific knowledge and experience for future generations of Spanish archaeologists. He is editor of the Boletin de Arqueología Experimental (http://www.uam.es/otros/baex/), and is one of the organisers of international experimental archaeology conferences.
