The kick-off meeting of the ERC project took place last Friday (February 5, 2021) and brought together the international consortium devoted to the study of the Quina World. High-level scientists from France, Spain, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, etc. virtually gathered to mention the latest developments in dating methods, statistical analysis, lithic technology, butchery particles and planning depth among Neanderthals, ancient genomics and biological anthropology, fire use and production, palaeo-environments... A rich programme that sketched and started research for the next 5 five years, during which the team will focus on Quina scrapers across Europe to gain a better understanding of Neanderthals.
